FOR TODAY Awakening to God’s presence in our lives often leads us to see the world and our neighbors in a different way. In the Gospels, Jesus says, “But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” (Matthew 13:16) As we seek to love our neighbors as ourselves, our vision is changed and our sense of our “circles of fellowship or influence” are expanded. The video for today shows us how a “child” may lead us or how our young people can awaken us to needs and possibilities in our midst.
FOR FURTHER REFLECTION As you have moved through this week, how has God awakened you to deeper needs in yourself and in others? As we make our way to our revival, what blinders in your life may be preventing you from seeing or hearing more broadly the call for justice, mercy, and witness in your community?
AWAKE
This second week focuses on the word awake. As Christians, we often find ourselves called into cycles of newness and resurrection. The good news is that we are never alone in the process. With God at our side we can trust that every time we are called to wake up to new ways of seeing or being, we are learning more about ourselves and our purpose.
