St. Paul’s, Daphne, to host 2016 Diocesan Convention

Delegates, clergy, and guests will gather at St. Paul’s, Daphne, February 18-20, for the 45th annual Convention of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. The convention will consider several resolutions and elect members of the Standing Committee of the Diocese.

The schedule of events will be posted on the Convention webpage HERE as soon as they are finalized.

The Host Convention Committee, headed by Ken McNamara and Tim Op’t Holt, has blocked accommodations at four nearby hotels in Daphne and Spanish Fort. Details were provided in the Clergy and Delegates Pre-Convention packet. Note that the special convention hotel rates are only effective until January 15.

The Friday evening Gala social event cost is included in the registration fee for the Convention, but others may attend the event at a cost of $55.00 per person. There will be heavy hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, a band and dancing, and fellowship. Diocesan friends are invited to join in as butler servers for passed food items at the Gala. Those interested should contact Gala Coordinator Judi Gulledge at (251) 626-5355.

Anyone who has ever hosted a Diocesan Convention can attest to the hard work and long hours involved, and parishioners at St. Paul’s, Daphne are looking forward to it. “To plan, organize, and accomplish this is quite a challenge,” noted Ken McNamara, “but it is also a perfect opportunity to use our wonderful St. Paul’s campus and Life Center and have our parishioners welcome and assist our diocesan friends.”
