Camp Happy Sands is a not-for-profit summer program that serves children from low income families. The children attend four days of camp (free of charge), swim, learn how to fish, and participate in various activities. Every summer, we send each child home with a recycle bag full of goodies (toys, t-shirt, cups, art projects). Our goal in summer 2017 is to send each child home with a backpack instead of the recycle bag! We have approximately 250 campers, so that’s a large number of backpacks to collect and we can’t do it without your help.
All children served by CHS struggle with poverty and live below the poverty-line. Wouldn’t it be great if we could provide them with not only some great goodies, but something that they can use for going back to school?!
Please bring all backpack donations to:
-St. Christopher’s, Pensacola (3200 N. 12th Ave.)
-We will be collecting them starting October 1st
-All donations should go to the main business office of the church
Founded in 1967 by Ila Roose and Corinne Jones, and continued by Ila's family, Charlie and Brenda Roose, Camp Happy Sands is an outreach ministry of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast and is supported by many of its congregations. Over the years, people have donated hundreds of flip-flops, swim suits, sunscreen, lunches, beach towels, funds, and so much more. We cannot operate without your prayers, support, and help.
A million thank-you’s for all you have done, are doing, and continue to do for the children of CHS!
