About The Event

While our 60 churches are unique, from small rural missions to large downtown parishes, there are aspects of leadership common to each regarding being vestry ministers. And too, there is information about the way a vestry functions in our denomination that translates to all that is best learned in community as diocesan leaders. Presented by Bishop Russell Kendrick and Diocesan Administrator Dwight Babcock.

Here is the agenda for our time together:

+ Understanding the Role of Vestry: Foundations and Responsibilities

Review the polity of our denomination and the specific roles and responsibilities of the vestry dictated by our canons. Time will be given to the different “lanes” of authority between clergy and vestry. Explore the importance of serving on the vestry as ministers versus managers.

+ Navigating Leadership: Vestry Decision Making

Equip yourselves with the tools and strategies to facilitate effective and inclusive decision-making within the vestry and in mutual work with clergy leadership, ensuring the well-being of the entire faith community.

+ Managing Church Finances: Financial Stewardship with Integrity

Gain insights into responsible financial stewardship, understanding budgets, and ensuring the sustainability of your faith community.

+ Responding With Grace: How to Handle Crisis, Conflict, and Change

Examine ways to lead your congregation during the most challenging of times.

+ Interactive Q&A: Your Questions, Our Insights

Seek guidance on any pressing issue in your current context.
