Black History Month Celebration

Christ Church Cathedral is glad this year to host Trebled Soul, the Alabama State University Vocal Jazz Ensemble, along with the Excelsior Band, for our 5th Annual Black History Month Celebration. Join us for a service highlighting the rich tradition of music we enjoy from Black composers and cultures, including jazz, Afro-American hymns, and spirituals. We will also welcome that day, the Rev. Bertice Berry, PhD, a sociologist, author, lecturer, storyteller, mother, and grandmother. She is a woman of science and faith. Ordained a Deacon in the Episcopal Church, Dr. Berry will be our preacher that day. Dr. Berry believes that every one of us has been given a unique purpose, and it is our obligation to find it and use it to improve first our own self and then the lives of those we live and work with.
