Choral Evensong for Trinity Sunday
26 May 2024 – 5:00 p.m.
Organ Prelude-Recital – 4:30 p.m.
On Sunday, May 26th at 5:00 p.m., the Christ Church choir and guests will sing Choral Evensong, one of the oldest and most beautiful liturgies in the Anglican tradition, in observance of Trinity Sunday. Evensong will feature Anglican Chant, the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in B Minor by T. Tertius Noble, Responses by John Barnard, “In the year King Uzziah died” by David McK. Williams, and congregational hymns.
Choral Evensong will be preceded by a half-hour organ recital prelude by Christ Church Director of Music Ministry Dr. Jason Hobratschk. The recital program will include works by Felix Mendelssohn, César Franck, and Eugene Gigout.
A festive reception will follow Choral Evensong.
