UTO announces new granting cycle

August 22, 2018

The United Thank Offering Board has announced the new Young Adult and Seminarian granting cycle. All materials can be found at the UTO website. We are pleased to announce some big changes that have been made.  UTO will be awarding 5 grants in each category of up to $5,000 each. Young Adults are defined as between the ages of 19 and 30. Seminarian students must be enrolled in an ordination track program and can be attending any seminary or diocesan school of ministry. These changes have been made to open up this opportunity to more people and to increase participation. The focus for this granting cycle is the baptismal covenant.

Remember that UTO funds new ministries or existing ministries going in a new direction. Applications will be reviewed and scored based on how closely they fulfill the grant focus so be sure to explain fully how your project fits into the baptismal covenant. Each diocese may submit one young adult application and one seminarian application. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Email addresses can be found at the end of this article. There will be at least two webinars on Zoom to answer your questions so be sure to check the website for instructions. You can log on via your laptop, tablet or phone. As of right now, they are tentatively scheduled for Monday September 10 at noon and 8 pm EST.
