Good Shepherd delegation attends Union of Black Episcopalians meeting

Parishioners from Good Shepherd, Mobile, traveled to New Orleans on Sunday, July 31, for the opening Eucharist for the Union of Black Episcopalians Conference. The theme was "Let the Church Say Amen: Reconciling Justice and Peace in our World Today." The Eucharist was held at Christ Church Cathedral on St. Charles Avenue. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry preached and the congregation, inspired to continue their journey in the Jesus Movement, enthusiastically responded by saying “Amen!”

A lovely reception was held in the cathedral fellowship hall. The group saw old friends and made new friends from all over the country. They were especially excited to talk with Bishop Curry and with their friend, Bishop Barbara Harris.
