USA offering certification in nonprofit management
The University of South Alabama Center for Continuing Education is offering a 40-week intensive non-profit management training curriculum, where students can receive a certification from the University of South Alabama in nonprofit Management. The program is designed to help existing non-profit leaders hone their skills and introduce new leaders to the skills critical to guiding their non-profit to effectively fulfilling its mission.
The Non-Profit Management Certification Program is particularly well suited for anyone in the non-profit field who has recently assumed management responsibilities, is working in an organization, is serving on a board of directors, or is involved in starting up a non-profit organization. This certification program consists of 10 modules geared to provide the essential information in a timely manner designed to fit your busy work and family schedules. You will examine the principles of non-profit management as well as the roles and responsibilities of a non-profit board of directors and the management team. You will also examine the essential aspects of fundraising and become acquainted with the fundamentals of the budgeting process.
Maintaining a well trained and competent staff throughout all components of a non-profit organization is critical, but where does an organization go to find training opportunities to insure a well trained and competent staff?
There are more than 1,000 non-profit organizations in Mobile and Baldwin Counties in Alabama alone. Most of these organizations are in competition for the same sources of funding and are not well positioned or attractive enough to be seriously considered for funding because they have a weak organizational structure. Many non-profit managers and boards do not understand why they are not receiving the financial resources needed to run their organizations and find themselves in the management position without adequate training and skills to run their programs efficiently and effectively.
