LIFE-LONG DREAM COMES TRUE FOR MASTER FLORIST

What’s that old saying?  What’s old is new again?  It may be the same location but it’s sporting a brand new name.  Blooms A Million opened its doors on August 1st in the Target shopping center at 1765 E Nine Mile Road and University Parkway.

When KaBloom of Pensacola owner Lynn Ruthven, decided to retire after five years to spend more time with family, the store’s master florist and designer, Rodney Canady, decided to fulfill his dream, of owning a floral business, in the former KaBloom location.

“Mr. Blooms”, as he is affectionately referred to by many, is a Florida State Master Florist and Texas Master Designer.  He currently serves as the Vice President of the Northwest Florida Florists’ Association and heads up a florists’ study group for the Gulf Coast area. A proud member of the Florida State Florists’ Association, at their 2009 convention, he was presented the prestigious Harry J. Killian Award for Excellence, Professionalism and Service in the Industry.  His work is frequently seen in local bridal magazines and shows.  Canady is a third generation florist.   He is often called on by other designers all along the Gulf Coast to assist with large weddings and/or banquet and convention work.
