Lenten Series: Nativity, Dothan

Please join us at Nativity, in Dothan, Alabama this Lent as we engage the story of the Bible itself–the shaping of its foundational documents and the impact of its manifold translation on life, history, music and ministry.   For 6 Wednesdays in Lent, we will meet in the Parish Hall for food and fellowship as some of our SWEEPS ministries prepare wonderful Soup Suppers at 5:30 p.m. Then we will move to the Church at 6:30 for our Lenten Teaching Series.

The schedule is:
February 16th: EYC hosts Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
February 24th: Soup provided by the Altar and Flower Guilds of Nativity; Speaker: Rabbi Lynn Goldsmith from Temple Emanu-El teaching on the Torah
March 3rd:Supper is hosted by the Eucharistic Ministers and Ushers of Nativity, followed by The Rev Ede Plovanich from Nativity teaching on the Canon.
March 10th: Soup is provided by the Outreach Committee and the Hospitality Table Group, followed by Dr Linda York from Wallace Community College teaching on Reformation.
March 17th: Soup provided by the Nativity Choir and the Good News Shop, with Choir Director, Dr. Deborah Deas teaching on Hymnody. March 24: Soup will be provided by the Daughters of the King, and teaching by Dr. Joseph Johnson from Evergreen Presbyterian Church on Evangelism.
March 31st: Soup will be provided by Nativity’s Baby Brigade, followed by the Stations of the Cross with Mother Ede Plovanich officiating.

If you are interested in any of these weekly events during Lent, please call the Nativity Office to sign up as soon as possible. There will be a nominal cost per meal of $5.00 to help defray the costs of the Speakers. Nursery will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 as well.
