Lakeside Concert Series returns to St. Agatha’s

An invitation from The Rev. John C. Scott, Vicar

St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church

Dear Friends of the Lakeside Concert Series:

Fall is a glorious season in DeFuniak Springs. It is brisk and colorful, and if you listen closely there is music in the air. The next Lakeside Concert is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 3:00 pm at St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church. Immerse yourself in the refreshing sounds of classic vocals of the NWFSC Madrigal Singers and Belle Voci. The Madrigal Singers, under the direction of Allison Everitt, present a capella concerts for the college and community with repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary gospel spiritual and vocal jazz.

Belle Voci is a women’s ensemble made up of a 12-15 select female voices from Northwest Florida State College. The group performs a wide variety of music, including classical music from early music to the twenty-first century and American music including spiritual and jazz. The ensemble specializes in a capella selections and is under the direction of Northwest Florida music professor, Lois Van Dam.

Admission to the concert is free, though a collection is taken which is used to support the series. A reception will be held immediately following the concert to provide concert goers an opportunity to meet the artists.

Very truly yours,

The Rev. John C. Scott, Vicar St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church
