Kathryn Scheldt to perform in concert June 21st at St. Paul’s Mobile


 St. Paul’s, Mobile choir member and soloist, Kathryn Scheldt, will perform in concert on June 21st at 4 pm.  Kathryn’s broad vocal range encompasses African-American Spirituals, Gershwin standards, and original songs from her first 2 CD’s, with a preview of songs from her 3rd CD to be released in the fall.  Her voice has been described by Joyce Sylvester, the Founder of the Bella Voce Women’s Chorus of Mobile, as “a voice with a unique and earthy native quality…a voice that possesses much warmth and color, bringing life to the poetry and heart-felt expression to every song.” Kathryn will be accompanied by her musician firends, Catherine and Kerry Marx from Nashville and Tom Morley of Fairhope.  Catherine Marx is currently pianist for Reba McEntire and Kerry Marx is guitarist for theGrand Ole Opry House Band. Tom Morley is a founding member of the Irish folk group, Mithril, and a violinist with the Mobile Symphony.  Also appearing to introduce the music will be Frye Gaillard, writer-in-residence at the University of South Alabama.  Please help us welcome Kathryn and her friends.     See other calendar events
