Epiphany Crestview held its first annual Anglican Harvest Thanksgiving Service Sunday October 3rd 2010. Their Annual English Tea was held after the service.
The Harvest Thanksgiving Service is a combination of two older English celebrations. The Church of England established this annual church celebration of the harvest in 1862. This service is a Eucharist accompanied by the tradition of offering the first fruits of the harvest, gifts of fresh produce and breads.

Epiphany felt that during these difficult times it is a wonderful opportunity to respond to the need by beginning the Harvest Thanksgiving tradition. The congregation was encouraged to bring fresh fruits, vegetables and breads and they outdid themselves providing more than 1,500 pounds of a wide variety of fresh produce and bread. These were blessed during the service and taken to Sharing and Caring for distribution.
After the service the English ladies served a traditional English Tea. The parish hall was decorated with British and English flags and pictures of the Queen. The ladies sang “God Save the Queen” to open the festivities and then began serving the tea. There were plenty of tea sandwiches, scones, sausage rolls, biscuits (cookies) laid out on the tables and, of course, pots and pots of hot English tea were poured.
