A Statement of Our Common Vision
We are grateful to be a part of God’s one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church,
established through our Lord Jesus Christ to restore all people to unity with God and each
other.
We are grateful to be that expression of God’s family known as the Episcopal
Church, where individuality and diversity are contributors to our unity; where Holy Scripture
is taught and understood through tradition, reason and experience; where worship offers
a balance between Word and Sacraments; and where authority is shared by clergy and
laity.
We are grateful to be that expression of the Episcopal Church known as the
Diocese of the Central Gulf coast. And our continuing vision for our life together here is:
! To support and encourage programs and ministries which touch others in
our communities and in the world with the love of Christ.
! To support and encourage the specific ministry of our Bishop.
! To support and encourage educational and training opportunities on the
congregational and Diocesan level that will support and encourage the
individual ministries of our people.
! To support and encourage the spiritual and numerical growth of our
congregations, and the establishment of new congregations, through
evangelism, education and training opportunities.
! To support and encourage stewardship education on a year-round basis.
! To support and encourage efforts to enhance and improve all forms of
communication within the Diocesan structure and between the Diocese and
our congregations.
