Show kicks off with  a French inspired “SOIREE”  Preview Party

Christ Church, Pensacola will hold its 55th Antiques Show on Friday, February 3  through Sunday, February 5, 2012.  Twenty two dealers from as far away as Illinois and Kentucky, North and South Carolina and across the Southeast! The Show has been called the finest in Northwest Florida and South Alabama!

Two new dealers will be joining the show this year. Mr. J. Sheldon Metcalf will feature fine silver-plated holloware: trays, candelabras, coffee urns, and other Victorian pieces. He has in stock several patterns of Franciscan and Haviland, and elegant glass patterns by Heisey, Cambridge, Fostoria, and Imperial as well as early to mid -century pottery and glass. Ms. Meg McGehee-Paulon will proudly show Chinese antiques. She has lived in Hong Kong and Thailand for 29 years and is now arriving back into the U.S. in time for our 55th Show.

Its a great day for Ladies Day out, Mother -Daughter lunch and shopping or a way to introduce a young person to objects and arts of the past! This event comes only once a year so don’t miss it!

Dealers are expected to show wonderful antiques including silver flatware, holloware and charms,estate jewelry, fine and vintage costume jewelry, rugs, china and porcelain, orientalia, lovely linens, art, collectibles, prints, bottles, postcards, vintage and first edition books many with fine illustrations, maps, crystal, tin toys ,primitives, crockery ,red ware, spongeware, salt glaze pottery, cast iron, decoys, native American artifacts and furniture and more! Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s day will be here before you know it so find something unique this year!

The show will be held in the Currin Center at Christ Church at 14 W. Wright  St., Downtown Pensacola from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday.

Lunch will be served on Friday and Saturday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The hot lunch fresh from the Christ Church kitchen includes a beverage and choice of luscious homemade desserts such as Eleanor Currin’s fabulous poundcake or carrot cake, Marguerita Soule’s glazed plum cake, Diane Crona’s cheesecake with raspberry sauce and many more chocolatey and Southern specialties!

Admission is $5 for one day or $7 for all three days.  Proceeds will benefit local charities (see list below).  Tickets for all events may be purchased in advance at the church office or at the door.

A special Preview Party is planned for Thursday, February 2, 2012, and will include music, wine and light hors d’oeuvres with a special French inspired theme : “Une Soirée aux Antiquités”.  Come and begin your shopping!! All ticket proceeds from these events will go to charitable organizations in the Pensacola area such as Favor House, Alzheimer’s Association, Salvation Army, Manna, Milk and Honey after school outreach, PACE Center for Girls, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Camp Happy Sands, Appetite for Life, Loaves and Fishes, Council on Aging, Covenant Hospice, Gulf Coast Kids House, Bridges to Circles, Interfaith Jail Ministries, St. Joseph Medical Clinic, United Ministries,Waterfront Rescue Mission, ARC Gateway and Lakeview Center.
