Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori - All Saints, Mobile 5-31-09

Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori All Saints, Mobile 5-31-09

This past weekend with Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori was a harmonious arrangement of many parts, sprinkled with the best of the paradisial Gulf Coast….the weather was perfect, traffic flowed with no disruptions, and each person carried out assignments perfectly.  Everyone working the events felt strong, energized by the presence of our stoic yet easy going Presiding Bishop. So many variables could have diverted the bliss….but none did.

Over 1800 photos and a handful of videos from the weekend are still being unpacked event by event. Some of the photo albums are now available on the Coastline photo gallery.  More will be going up throughout the day today. Download any photo by right-clicking the image and saving it to a file on your computer or cd or thumb drive.  From there you can print it or get it developed wherever you get your film processed normally. Email The Coastline Editor  if you have problems with this little exercise.

Congratulations to The Rev. Albert Kennington, architect and coordinator for the weekend. His detailed planning began early last fall when Bishop Duncan invited the Presiding Bishop to our Diocese.  Albert’s work continues as he is arranging to send to the PB’s office in NYC the multiple gifts she received during the weekend among other loose ends.

Many thanks, also, to the Diocesan office staff, particularly Mary Poss who handled all of the administrative details for the weekend. A deep bow, a precise salute, loud applause, and quiet prayer of thanks goes to the hundreds of cooks, bakers, ushers, floral arrangers, drivers, cleanup crews, caterers, hosts, hostesses, photographers, police, priests, and community leaders and others who joined in making the Presiding Bishop’s visit an outstanding, memorable experience for everyone.

A special edition of The Coastline will be out soon, and a $10 CD of Friday’s service at Christ Church, Pensacola, will be available.  Details on how to order it will be in the Coastline, the website, and in the e-news as soon as those details are available.
