Presiding Bishop arrives on time; goes into conference with clergy and spouses

PENSACOLA, FL  —  Father Albert Kennington called around 11:10 am today to say in a relieved breath that the PB’s plane is on time.  And she arrived just as scheduled.

Straight from the airport to the Bishop's home for lunch. L-R: Bishop Duncan, Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, and Mrs. Kathy Duncan

Fr. Kennington and Bishop Duncan met Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori at the airport and drove her to Gulf Breeze where she had lunch with Fr. Kennington, Bishop Duncan and his wife, Kathy.  Following lunch she and the Bishop arrived at St. Francis of Assisi, also in Gulf Breeze, to meet and greet the clergy and their spouses.   106 clergy and spouse plus another dozen volunteers from St. Francis spent almost two hours together with a closing worship service.  The chldren’s choir from St. Francis gave the musical offering.

Interesting note… the mayor of Gulf Breeze is a parishioner of St. Francis and has asked the police to block traffic for a smooth and quick ride over the bridge to Christ Church Parish in Pensacola where she will preach at 5:30.

  I’ll post more photos later…..
