The 39th Annual Convention of the Diocese in session today at Christ Church, Pensacola

Pensacola, FL –  Following Morning Prayer, Bishop Philip Duncan gave his annual address to the delegates of the 39th Annual Convention of the Diocese.  Convention delegates and guests are in the spacious and artful nave of Christ Church Parish in Pensacola, FL.   As the day progresses, updates will be made on this website as well as on the Diocesan Facebook page.  cClick here to view photos…more will be added throughout the day and over the weekend.  This year’s convention is a one day event and will end with 5 pm Eucharist this afternoon.

ECW Spring Day Away theme is “Through the Looking Glass”; date is April 24, 2010

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast is having their annual “Spring Day Away” on April 24, 2010 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Panama City, FL.   The theme is “Through the Looking Glass.”

St. Paul’s, Foley enters chili team in Ecumenical Ministries Chili-Cookoff

Ecumenical Ministries of Baldwin County held its annual chili-cookoff fundraiser on February 20.

The “Sweatin’ Saints”, under the direction of Matt Stevens, represented St. Paul’s s a Chili Team in the 10th Annual EMI Chili Cook Off this year.  The event was a whole lot of fun and raised over $20,000 for the ministry of EMI.

Girls Choir of All Saints going to Florence, Italy! Proceeds from March 13th Yard Sale to fund the trip

The Girls Choir of All Saints Church will be having a Huge Yard Sale at All Saints Church, Mobile on Saturday March 13 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Girls Choir is raising money for their trip to Florence Italy this summer. They will sing Choral Evensong and Holy Eucharist at St. James Church where the Rev. Canon T. Mark Dunnam is rector.

St Augustine’s of Canterbury calls The Reverend Anthony MacWhinnie, II

The parish of St Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Navarre, FL welcomes  Anthony MacWhinnie, II as their new priest, Father MacWhinnie  told parishioners, “I’m very glad to be here!”
Representatives of the vestry presented MacWhinnie with the keys
to the church before the Ash Wednesday service on February 17, which was his first official celebration of Holy Eucharist with the parish.

Editor’s note: Fr. MacWhinnie is a 2008 graduate of the Seminary of the Southwest and was ordained in 2009. He served as Vicar at St. Thomas, Laguna Beach since June of 2008.
