Christ Church Cathedral is hosting an EYC Mardi Gras party on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 4:30 until 7:30 pm.  The Daughters of Neptune parade rolls at 6:30;  hamburgers and hotdogs will be served.  To park around the Cathedral you must arrive before the barricades close which is at 5:30 pm.  Please let Carolyn Jeffers know how many adults and children are in your group.   Carolyn’s number is 251-438-1822 or email her at office@christchurchcathedral.com

On January 26, 2010, Episcopal Relief & Development hosted a luncheon in New York City in honor of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. Rowan Williams.

Among the 75 guests in attendance were friends and supporters of Episcopal Relief & Development and the NetsforLife® program partnership; members of Episcopal Relief & Development’s Board of Directors; and many NetsforLife® corporate partners, including Chris Flowers of the White Flowers Foundation, Florence Davis of the Starr International Foundation and Steven Phillips of ExxonMobil.

More than 90 individuals gathered at St. Anna’s Episcopal Church for the Winter Talk 2010, a three-day conference open to Native American Episcopalians from across the country.

Lee “Lavan” Martin, an organizer for the event, said parishioners from as far away as Alaska, Hawaii and Canada made the trip to Poarch for the event.  Full story here

A new tax relief law allows people who contributed in 2010 to charities providing earthquake relief in Haiti to take a tax deduction for the contribution on their 2009 tax return instead of their 2010 return. This means you can receive an immediate tax benefit, rather than having to wait until you file next year’s return. Please check with the IRS as certain restrictions apply.
