Two Camp Coast Care mission trips planned

Years of rebuilding remain ahead on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast after the catastrophic destruction of Hurricane Katrina.  The Commission on World Mission has reserved two weeks in the Fall for our mission teams to volunteer through Camp Coast Care.

Full viewFIRST MISSION DATE
Arrival Date:      Sep 13, 2009
Departure Date: Sep 19, 2009

SECOND MISSION DATE
Arrival Date:       Nov 1, 2009
Departure Date: Nov 7, 2009

Special Note:Volunteers can arrive later in the week and/or leave earlier than scheduled date depending on personal requirements.  If construction work (everyone is shown how to carry out a task beforehand) is not your thing, folks are needed around the camp to help logistically and also to help with the cooking and dining arrangements.  No fee require. However a recommended donation of $25 per day is gladly accepted to cover costs of room and board.  Any other donations are also gladly accepted.

Camp Coast Care and Lutheran Episcopal Services are moving to a new location in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. See photos of the new headquarters!  The partner organizations have been invited to consolidate their efforts with Camp Lagniappe, a ministry of Lagniappe Presbyterian Church, and with Habitat for Humanity in Bay St. Louis. The new location is in Hancock County, ground zero for Hurricane Katrina, where the greatest part of the rebuilding remains to be completed. The larger and better-equipped facility will enable CCC to provide volunteers a more rewarding and memorable experience.  The collaboration will also provide the opportunity to be better stewards with limited resources.
